Ep 7: From Dreams to Doable: Breaking Down Your Life's Vision to What Matters Today

February 13, 2018

Have you ever struggled to see a vision for where you’re going? Or if you have that vision, have you struggled to break it down into day to day habits and activities? If so this episode is for you. Learn how to take your dreams to done in 6 realistic steps in today’s episode!

Of course I'll go into alllll the details in the video, but for a quick recap this is the overview:

1- Vision the accomplishment.

2- What's Important Now (WIN**): Figure out what matters most to do today by:

  • Ask God daily for the wisdom to know what's important today

  • Don't neglect your ultimate vision OR the habits that you've established that are going to get you there

  • Trust that if you're 1) asking God daily and 2) keeping your ultimate in vision, that good things are coming your way, that may surprise you, and change your ultimate vision, but ultimately be even better than what you had planned anyway

  • LOVE THE GRIND. Love the grind, without it there is no polish, there is no shine. Yes this is a Lizzy Live original, and one of my favorite prints that Holly Sparks has put up in our shop

“When we are unclear about our real purpose in life—in other words, when we don’t have a clear sense of our goals, our aspirations, and our values—we make up our own social games. We waste time and energies on trying to look good in comparison to other people. We overvalue nonessentials like a nicer car or house, or even intangibles like the number of our followers on Twitter or the way we look in our Facebook photos. As a result, we neglect activities that are truly essential, like spending time with our loved ones, or nurturing our spirit, or taking care of our health.” Greg McKeown, "Essentialism"

"Life has some strange turns….Do not rely on planning every event of your life--even every important event. Stand ready to accept the Lord's planning and the agency of others in matters that inevitably affect you. Plan, of course, but fix your planning on personal commitments that will carry you through no matter what happens. Anchor your life to eternal principles, and act upon those principles whatever the circumstances and whatever the actions of others. Then you can await the Lord's timing and be sure of the outcome in eternity." Dallin H. Oaks

“When we’re desperate to become the people we were born to be, our vision changes. We wake up from the spiritual amnesia the adversary so cleverly administers, and suddenly we see things about ourselves, others, and our lives we’ve never seen before. The world’s “fun” and “entertainment” start to look almost ridiculous, perhaps even spiritually dangerous. We begin to see the adversary’s tricks and traps for what they really are—temptations to make us forget our true identity and our destination. We begin to spend our time differently." Wendy Watson Nelson

"Opportunities are a direct growth out of what you are currently doing. Opportunities come to you as you are anxiously engaged in what you're doing right now. Invest in what you're doing now and the opportunity will come." Craig Faulkner, from the podcast Awesome with Alison EP 26
